Amran's Birthday Cake!

I make cakes for most people on their birthday because I feel like it is a more personal gift and also I have so much fun making them. For Amran's 20th birthday I wanted to make it a bit different because I find it hard to make a masculine cake. I came up with the idea of making a snap back hat cake. I did set myself a challenge but I think it came out well.

I brought all the ingredients for the cake too make sure I have everything. I got a cake mixture because his favourite is red velvet and I did not want to risk making it is from scratch. I made the cake early so I could let it cool down before I started icing it.

With the cooled cake I rolled out the ready made regal icing. Firstly I made a huge circle with the blue icing to place on the cake as the main part of the cap. I used two layers of blue icing for a better finish. After this I needed to make the cap in the red icing. Therefore I got the tray I wish to serve it on and carved out the red cap. After the shape of the snap back was made I finally decorated it with writing and small details.

Luckily the whole thing was amazing with some help from my sister and it tasted delicious.
